I have no photos because everything was delicious. We went for an early dinner and the service was a 10/10, food was 10/10 and drinks were 10/10. Very easy for a group of people and loved that I could make a reservation - it was also wonderfully lively after the dinner rush started. Highly recommend the rasmalai dessert and the kale chaat, those were the table favorites.

Ideally, I'd give this place a 4.5/5. We went for dinner on a weekday around 6 pm when it wasn't very busy, but the place filled up quickly within half an hour. The restaurant has a spacious indoor dining area with a separate area for private group dining and bar seating. Service was prompt and friendly throughout our meal. Our server was attentive and even corrected a small error in our bill with a sincere apology. We started with the Kale Chaat, which was a delightful explosion of flavors - minty, sweet, and tangy. The crispy kale was perfectly balanced with the yogurt, mint, tamarind, and other toppings. We could have easily ordered another round! The Chicken Momos were juicy and flavorful, although not spicy. The accompanying sauce was a good complement. The Daal Makhni was decent, but I wished it had a slightly creamier texture. However, the Mixed Veggie Tikka Masala was truly amazing - rich, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. Overall, The Dancing Yak offers a lively atmosphere, excellent service, and a menu with several standout dishes. I highly recommend it for a casual and enjoyable dining experience

Had a lovely dinner here with some girlfriends where every dish was a hit! Very high 4 stars. Reservations made online a few weeks in advance. It wasn't too busy when I arrived around 6:30pm on a Tuesday, but at some point during the dinner rush they seemed fully booked. Our server was really helpful and recommended most dishes we ordered. She memorized our order which we were surprised about, then ended up forgetting one dish (the Shapta), but it worked out because we were pretty full with all the other food we'd ordered. $225 total for 3 alcoholic drinks, 1 nonalcoholic drink, 2 small plates, 2 mains, 1 house special, 1 classic curry, 3 garlic naan's, 1 dessert. Plenty of food for 5 of us! Only $45 per person total. COCKTAILS * Few Feet to Summit cocktail ($15) - 3.5 stars. A little too much on sweet side, but overall enjoyable. * Old Fashioned Nepal cocktail ($14) - SMALL PLATES * Fish Tawa ($14) - 4 stars * Kale Chaat ($13) - 5 stars. Fantastic mix of textures (creamy, crunchy) and flavors (tangy, sweet, savory). MAINS * Momo w chicken ($9 for 4pc) - 4 stars * Chowmein w tofu ($19) - 4.5 stars HOUSE SPECIALS * Aloo Cauli ($18) - 4 stars CLASSIC CURRIES * Saag w Paneer ($20) - 4 stars SIDES * Garlic Naan ($4 each) - 3.5 stars. A little hard to eat, a little too stretchy and hard to pull apart. DESSERT * Rasmalai ($12) - 4.5 stars

I keep coming back here because it's so good! The highlight of the meal was definitely the momo's. They're small but very flavorful. The cashew curry and matar paneer were also very good. I also have to highlight the cheese naan. It's simple but perfect. We had a reservation and got seated immediately. Dim lighting and a fun atmosphere!

Have always walked by this restaurant in the mission but never had a chance to try till now. Great spot for a causal dinner or a celebration with a large group. Highlights were the chicken momo, garlic naan, and the eggplant curry. Everything was super flavorful and smelled amazing when they brought it to the table.

Super lively Nepalese restaurant! Food was hit or miss for me depending on the dish -- I really loved the chicken momos (with the sauce!), kale chaat, eggplant curry, and the cheese and garlic naan (unfortunately I forgot to take a pic of the chaat and eggplant), but the saag curry with paneer was kind of bitter and the daal bhat didn't stand out to me. Came here for a birthday dinner celebration and the atmosphere was fun! The staff were very nice and kept a birthday cake for us in the back and served it to us after our meal with a candle, so we really appreciated that! Other than that, it was a bit loud inside so I couldn't hear my friends sometimes. We were also seated close to the door so it was a little cold. I also didn't expect that all the entrees would be brought out together, so once we finished our appetizers, it felt like we were waiting for a while before more food came. The presentation was nice, but we were a bit hungry coming in.

Went here to celebrate a friend's birthday and it was a great time! The service was fantastic and they helped us accommodate bringing out a cake after the meal (lit a candle too), and even helped sing with us. Definitely recommend this spot for a chill and casual dinner with friends. We ordered a bunch of things to share: chicken momos, daal bhat, kale chaat, saag paneer, and the eggplant curry, as well as a garlic naan and cheese naan (each came with 4-5 pc). Favorite bites were the cheese naan, kale chaat, and the curries! The curries were a bit salty but went super well with the naan. Paneer had good flavor. Kale chaat is apparently their most popular dish so worth a try-- very unique flavor and refreshing.

Dined at Dancing Yak last night! As a party of 2, we arrived 1 hour before close and were seated right away. Great & attentive service. Cute spot, lots of large parties seated. We arrived after work in scrubs and it was no problem. Kale Chaat: 3.5/5- not the best kale chaat I've ever had, but still good Pork MOMO (4pcs): 3/5 Garlic Naan: 5/5- really impressed with the Naan. Covered in garlic & butter. What's not to love? Butter Chicken: 4.5/5- very rich flavors and loved the chicken. We ordered medium spice, but honestly don't think any spice was added. Overall, I would visit again. Didn't love the appetizers, but main dishes were great.
